A Special Guest Post Today.... Maria of the Blog Rusty Hinge!

Hello everyone!  My name is Maria from Rusty Hinge.  I live in a hundred year old farmhouse in the countryside of northern Michigan with my husband, Karl.  I love interior design, gardening, re-purposing and collecting anything old!

When I first started my blog last spring, I never imagined all the dear friends I would make through blogging.  What a wonderful ride this has been. There are really no words to describe my gratitude for all the encouragement I have received!  Thank-you, Maria, for all of your support along the way and for helping me step out into blogging.  I am honored to be a guest on your lovely blog today.  I think it's safe to say I can speak for everyone here that your blog is a true inspiration for us.  And you are as sweet as you are talented!

With spring right around the corner and all the Christmas decor packed up for another year, I would love to share a couple Valentine inspired ideas with you.

My Valentine tree is merely several red branches stuffed into an old french stone pot.  I hung red crochet and tin bucket heart ornaments onto the branches.

I especially love to decorate seasonally with whatever I have laying around.  I would pick up these vintage tin cookie cutters here and there, and soon had a jar full.  Many where heart-shaped, so I thought why not throw them into my old dough trencher for a table centerpiece!

Montana Farmhouse Soaps Coming Soon..... Antique Ceiling Tin Memory Board

Hello!
I wanted to tell you about a soap line I will soon be carrying in the shop.....
I was born and raised in Montana,  and luckily grew up in a large family of 10 children.....
My brother, Merle lives in Manhattain, Montana with his wife, Nancy, and two daughters Katie and Amelia....
My nieces Katie and Amelia raise nubian goats and show their goats at the county fair every year....
Nancy and the girls have been working on developing an all natural soap line using their
goat's milk....

I have been using her soap and love it....
My entire family loves it as well....
Nancy is getting ready to launch her line, Montana Farmhouse Soaps soon.....
You will be able to purchase her soaps in my shop....
The above pictures are of my daughter Bethany and our nubian goat, Dolly.
Dolly has been apart of our family for 11 years and is well loved....

On another note....

I wanted to show you a quick way to make a memory board out of an antique ceiling tin.....
My sister actually makes the prettiest pictures frames using antique tin tiles....
Since I am not that handy I decided to use clothes pins to hold the pictures in place....

All you need is a ceiling tin....
A couple of clothes pins...
I was lucky and found some vintage french clothes pins....
This is a 12" x 12" square so I only clipped on two pictures of my adorable niece....

Prop the tin up on a shelf and you have a unique memory board...

I added a few of these to my shop  and will be adding more tiles tonight.

I also wanted to Congratulate Sara Duckett, Sara will be on the Nate Show tomorrow, February 3rd!
Be sure and watch tomorrow's show....
I will be sharing an interview with Sara in the near future along with a fun giveaway!

Enjoy the rest of your day!
I am unfortunately headed back to the Apple Store today.... : (

Take Care,
Maria

Kids Only Parents Keep Out

Hello,
I have unfortunately been experiencing a lot of computer and internet issues the past couple of weeks.
I think everything is back in order again!

I wanted to share this picture I recently took at Maison Reve....
Yasmine had created a space just for kids in her shop...
I love the
Kids Only Parents Keep Out sign....
and the kids loved it as well....

We also made a trip to Petaluma....
The below image of my girls was taken in Petaluma....
This is a neat historic town you should make sure you stop and visit if you are ever in Northern California and like to go antiquing....
There are a lot of great antique stores in Petaluma.....

Now that my computer is running again I will be loading more products to my shop over the next week and will be able to start blogging again!
I have lots to share with you!
Enjoy your day!
Hopefully I will be back tomorrow morning.
Take Care,
Maria
