Have you seen these photographs before?
These are photographs of Fifi O' Neill's fisherman's cottage, shot by photographer, Deborah Whitlaw Lewellyn, for the Coastal Living Magazine.
These photographs were recently bought by a German Country Living Magazine, who just recently featured this article about Fifi's home in their magazine!
I remember when I first saw these pictures in
Coastal Living, I loved everything about Fifi's relaxed and yet still very elegant style,
I saved this article and used it for inspiration for decorating my own home.
I can't tell you how many times I have looked at these photos over the past couple of years.
I am so inspired by her style!
I would love to have a kitchen (and Fifi's entire fisherman's cottage) just like hers.

Fifi is writing a new book, it is due out in the spring of 2011!
I also wanted to tell you some exciting news.. Fifi is coming to shoot my home toward the end of July, it could possibly be featured in her new book!
I am very honored, excited and VERY NERVOUS...
Let's just say there is a lot that has to get done around here before this talented lady shows up at my front door!

Hi! Fifi's blog was the very first one I ever found and needless to say, I found myself over the moon envious of her cottage. I could look at her home everyday - that's what inspired me to lighten up my home...getting there.

That's great news, Maria. Congratulations! Fifi definitely has a style all her own and one I dream of often too. That Coastal Living magazine shoot of her home has a permanent place in my home and I love to flip to it for those dreamy colors each summer. Have fun getting ready for her visit!

OH MY GOSH!!! How exciting!!!=) I was just wondering (last night) if you had been featured in a magazine yet!! Of course Fifi wants to shoot pics of your house!! It's fabulous! I think it's funny that you admire her style so much and then I sit back and admire your style and Fifi's...I think all of us women tend to inspire one another! I love that about the blog world!! A world I didn't know existed until a couple of months ago:) Can't wait to see what happens!!!

ReplyDeletefifi and dan were at my home last month and let me tell you that they are fun, friendly and so down-to-earth. i am still amazed that they were actually here, even had lunch with me at my local panera -- surreal! fifi is wonderfully gracious and generous. it will be a day to remember!

ReplyDeleteYou and your style of decorating deserve to be in somebody's book. You are in a class by yourself and I am not afraid to say, that I like your style over Fifi's. You remind me of Rachel Ashwell's shabby chic. Lot's of people try to pull off her look, but there is something about the way she styles. It can't be duplicated, as well as she does it and that is what you do. There is something special about your styling. My new favorite phrase is, "Own it", and I think that is exactly what you should do. So excited for you. You deserve it.

I agree, those pics are amzing- I could stare at them over and over again too.. Love that rustic table- love the mix matching of styles.. Your home is amzing..Im sure ive mentioned this- but for blogging world- we are pretty close in proximty.(my hubby has been working in the South Bay (driving back and forth) but usually Berkley or that area..
