Hello Everyone!
I hope you are all having a great week.
I wanted to share a few pictures with you of my favorite place to buy produce.
When we lived in Southern California, Avila Valley Barn was our favorite place to stop for produce.
is located in San Luis Obispo.
They have the best home-grown, fresh picked produce.
From May to December you can pick your own produce...
I love the way they display their produce...
I wasn't going to buy very many pumpkins this year....
Then I stopped here this last weekend......
The kids had a blast picking out pumpkins to take back home.
We started out with a basket....
Then ended up having to get a cart....
They even have a few farm animals.....
On the weekends they have free hay rides.
If you are ever in San Luis Obispo, California
you should be sure and stop by Avila Valley Barn....
If you want to find out more about Avila Valley Barn you can do so by clicking here~

What a great market! I want to go!!!
ReplyDeleteWOW!
ReplyDeleteI have never seen anything like this before...Soo this is what Autumn is about in the states.
Harvest Festivals in the UK seem quite lame by comparison.
And here in towards the north in Sweden...there is nothing much growing, except obviously the beautiful Pines and birches and the beauty of the lakes & rivers...a slower pace, everything and everyone preparing for snow and winter.
HAPPY HAPPY AUTUMN DAYS!
Love your photo's thanks for sharing
LOVE PEACE enJOY

ReplyDeleteLove it!!We have a place quite like that near here, could spend days poking around! Hope you are well!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny to see this as I was just having a phone conversation with someone who was mentioning the Barn to me. She was asking if I'd ever gone, which was no, and describing all the wonderful things they have. She actually works there. Now seeing the photos I will have to stop in. Beautiful, thank you for sharing this.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful farm and photographs! I have a favorite farm here in NY with the gorgeous produce, hay rides, animals, etc. but I must say that Avila Valley Barn's displays are so much more lovely. I could spend all day there. Your children are beautiful, Maria. Thanks for sharing.

thank you so much for taking us east coasters on such a great tour! really loved your photos.
ReplyDeleteSan Luis Obispo is one of my favorite areas in Ca. Would love to live there. We have a farm like that in our parts called Sloughhouse. And then there is always Apple Hill only 35 mins away up the hill just past Placerville...and one of the reasons I love Autumn so much!
ReplyDeleteHello dear Maria!
ReplyDeleteSo long time since I visited your beautiful blog!!!! Love everything I see! Wow what a place. Have to remember it for next time we come over!!!
Now I will read everything I missed here since last time!!! It's like having a nice magazine...
xoxo Susanne
Great photos. I love those white pumpkins. I find it amazing how pumpkins are so popular over there. In Australia we don't celebrate Halloween although there have been efforts in recent years to try and promote it and get us Aussies behind it.
ReplyDeletedid I ever tell you that I LOVE the music on your blog? Great photos by the way! We have a little shop about 5 min from us just like this minus the hay rides! Love it!
ReplyDeletei love places like this and boy, do they know how to present their produce. everything is sorted and stacked so beautifully. great pics!

What a beautiful place. It looks like just plain old fun...to be there and experience it. Now..what I am wondering is - HOW full of pumpkins and assorted goodies was your car when you left? Diana
ReplyDeleteWhat great pictures. I can't believe how cute it all is. I love the photos with the cart and the sunflowers...wish I could see it in person :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great market! I went to college down there. Either I missed this place or it wasn't there when i attended college. It looks fabulous. I would have gottens several of those white pumpkins! Your kids are adorable, Maria.

ReplyDeleteThat is the prettiest bunch of pumpkins I have ever seen. There is nothing close to that in this small town , how I wish there was.
ReplyDeleteJanice
Great blog. I have been following for a while. I love taking pictures of produce markets. They are some of my favorites. My kids, though, not so much. Don't like posing among the produce. I have a dilemma today though. I have recently viewed a blog post, made a mental note to go back to it, then forgot which blog I was on. So, my question is have you recently posted a blog about a new rug in your kitchen? Thanks.
ReplyDeletegreat pictures!! it looks like you guys had so much fun.
ReplyDeletei always laugh when i go in with a basket and end up with a cart :) i try to tell myself it will prevent me from going overboard, but then i always walk out with a cart before it's over!
You take the most amazing pictures - what kind of camera do you use. I am shopping for one and have no idea what kind to get - i now have a Canon point and shoot and am entering into the DSLR world - help!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is a gorgeous shop. Love their displays and the giant piles of pumpkins! Looks so fun!
ReplyDelete...ABundanT
ReplyDeleteOh, that is a great market for sure...I think I could roam around all day...okay, maybe just hang out with the animals then...did you get any "white" pumpkins? Looks like you and your family had a great time!
ReplyDeleteGina

Wow what a place!!! I wanna live there hehehe. I love white pumpkins, but sadly have yet to see any around my area??? only small little baby white pumpkins. Your pictures and kids are beautiful! cheers, Stacey
ReplyDeleteI was raised in San Luis Obispo and now live in Oklahoma.....to bad they did not have this around when I was growing up. I love to see people blog about my home town............you are so lucky to be close to this bounty of beauty! Thanks for showing the pictures!
ReplyDeleteThis is the best pumpkin-themed post I've ever come across -- kudos! And of course it's making me very homesick; back in Washington State there are some magical pumpkin patches.
ReplyDeleteTake care,
Michael
Those are some great pictures of the barn! The Barn is a gem of Avila Beach and the Central Coast. Keep up the good work!

Wow..you are an amazing blogger with sooo many great ideas...I love how you decorate. If only I could stick to one color and be happy. I am happy to follow your blog. Dawn from NJ.
ReplyDeleteI love all pictures, and the place...
ReplyDeleteI follow you from Spain.
Have a great day!!!
I love this barn too! A perfect day with the kids usually involves heading out to the barn to see the animals and buy produce... a stroll on avila beach or the port san luis pier.... and then to the village of Arroyo Grande to go to our favorite candy shoppe in the world "A Sweet Shoppe Named Desire" They have the best fudge, salt water taffy, and chocolate dipped bacon!
