Hello,
I hope you are all having a great week....
I first have to share a picture I took of my daughter today....
Bethany got a haircut today....
She is donating her hair to the Locks of Love.
This is the second time she has done this...
About four years ago Bethany discovered that kids her age might not be as fortunate as she is....
She wanted to do something to make them feel better...
and that was cut her hair and give it to someone who is less fortunate.
She told us then at age 8 she was going to grow her hair long, and cut it again once it was long enough.
I really didn't think she would do it again...
I really didn't think she would do it again...
If you haven't ever heard of the Locks of Love you can find out more about them by going here...
It is a great organization and if you or your child is planning on getting at least 10" of hair cut off it is a great way to give
something special to a child that is very ill.
On another note....
I received a beautiful package in the mail today from Jeanne Oliver....
It actually was for Miss Bethany....
We had a hard time wanting to actually open the package....
It was so beautifully wrapped.
Jeanne knew that I wanted to order a bag for Bethany, so she could use it to hold her art supplies....
She sent us the perfect bag...
It fits Bethany perfectly and and holds all of her art supplies.
Thank you Jeanne for your generous gift....
Bethany loves her new tote.
And you are all probably wondering who won Jeanne's Camera Bag...
I am sorry to keep you hanging....
Meg also has a very cute blog called
Thank you to everyone who participated in the giveaway....
Thank you Jeanne Oliver Designs for sponsoring such a generous giveaway.
We all love you Jeanne!
Speaking of giveaways....
I hope you get a chance to check out Jennifer Rizzo's blog today....
Jennifer is having a giveaway link party...
Be sure and check out her home while you are over there.
You will find out she is blessed with many talents....
I will be back next week with those table setting tips....
Enjoy your weekend.
Take Care,
Maria

What a wonderful thing to do. Your daughter is a gorgeous and thoughtful girl :)
ReplyDeleteThat is so sweet. My son (11 years old) is a cancer survivor, but boys are a little different when it comes to losing their hair. Mine thought it was great that the shower ritual was so short (no major shampooing, no combing, dry time zero minutes, etc), but little girls (and big ones) need that hair to make them feel normal. High five to Miss Bethany for being such a generous spirit.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Judy
Hi Maria,
ReplyDeleteWow, your daughter has a big heart, just like her mom. ;) The bag looks perfect on her! Thanks for another lovely post.

ReplyDeletebeautiful girl and i love her haircut....
ReplyDeleteMy girls have given their hair to locks of love, too. It always makes me so proud. Most salons . . . even the very expensive ones . . . give the haircut free. Very generous.

Glenda

The young age in which your daughter chose to give her hair is a testiment that she must have very giving and loving parents. What a wonderful thing for a beautiful young lady to learn.

Bethany is too precious! A couple of our daughters have wanted to contribute hair to LFL but haven't followed through. How delightful that Bethany did. I know it fills your heart with joy to see her generous spirit.

Maria,
ReplyDeleteBethany is beautiful -- inside and out. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
Your Friend,
Deborah
What a wonderfully selfless thing for your daughter to do! I think young people get such a bad rap sometimes when so many of them do good in this world!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Meg, and I love the bag your daughter received!
Kat :)
Your daughter is beautiful both inside and out. Bless her!
ReplyDeleteAll of my grandchildren go to the same pediatric group. The first time I saw one of the doctors, I thought he was very unprofessional with his long pony tail. I later was ashamed of my quick judgement as I learned that he grew his long, blonde ponytail to donate to Locks of Love! I have seen him do it at least twice and have a deep admiration for him now...and have learned to not judge people so quickly. ~ What a great thing for your daughter to do...& she is beautiful! And she has a beautiful spirit.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful, compassionate gesture from your daughter. Plus Bethany's new haircut is lovely.

Anyways, it's such a wonderful cause, thanks for getting the word out, maybe more people will do it. Love the shoulder bag, the parcel alone is precious as can be! Marcia
