Hello!
I just wanted to share a few pictures of a fun way to use apples during the autumn season.
I filled my 19th century french tian bowl {that I posted about yesterday}
with water....
My daughter cut out portions of the tops of the apples and then fit a tea light candle into the apple.
Apples will only last for one day....
Add your apples to the water....
They should float : )
Light your candles....
My son Austin loves how the tea light candles glisten in the water....
It is a simple and fun project to do with your kids during the autumn season.
I would love to hear how you decorate for fall.....
On another note...
I wanted to thank everyone who participated in the
Cupcakes for the Primrose Bakery Cookbook giveaway.....
The winner of the cookbook is
Karen, who has a blog called

Hi Maria,
Just beautiful!!! That bowl is fabulous! Maybe I'm just silly, but what was a French tian bowl used for? I have never seen one before.
Thanks for the fall decorating tip, I'll have to try this.
Hope you have a lovely day.
Sincerely,
Melinda
Lovely decoration Maria!!! I also use apples plus pinecones and dried flowers!
What a great unexpected fall table decoration. I love it!

Where have I seen this before??? Doesn't matter you do it better girl! Great images! Wonderful seeing you at remnants!!!
This is just lovely for autumn. I also love your pumpkin birdfeeder. I miss doing projects with my kids. They are all too old now. I like to decorate very simple for fall by using bits from nature...leaves, acorns, shells, driftwood. I like the browns and greys of this time of year in Northern California.
Happy Apple Daze, Maria!
I love your photos.
How beautiful your bowl looks with those sweet apple tealights - your daughter did a great job on that! You make a great team.
And, wouldn't those apple tealights be beautiful at Christmastime, too - perhaps with a few tiny sprigs of cedar or boxwood floating for good measure and/or the foot of the bowl encircled with a wreath of greens and maybe even some apples?!
Okay, now I'm inspired. I have to tuck this idea into my Christmas file...Haha Thanks for taking the time to share with us all. I always enjoy my visit with you.

Very cute idea. Just don't let the kiddies confuse the two different type of apples when bobbing for apples at a party.
Just lovely...me and my daughters are fishing leaves and making stars from apples;))
Thanks again for your fantastic inspiration:))
