Beautiful! Some of my favorite Christmas traditions are decorating the tree with my kiddos and sweet husband and reminiscing about all of our special ornaments. As my kids are getting older, I value the handmade ones so much more! I love sipping hot cocoa and driving to see the Christmas lights while we listen to and sing carols. Watching White Christmas is a must. We also help with the family pictures at our local food bank's Christmas party. It's so much fun! My favorite tradition though, is probably the Christmas Eve party at my parents house with all the cousins and then taking pictures of the excitement and anticipation in the hall before we open presents in the morning.

Wow - what a giveaway and beautiful pictures. My husband and I have started a new tradition now that our daughters have moved away. We used to go out and look for hours for that "perfect tree". Now we go out and purchase what we call a "Charlie Brown Christmas tree", one that is completely wrapped up. It is a complete surprise what the tree will look like and I must say that every year the tree is just gorgeous! It is perfect!! Merry Christmas!

So many great traditions it is hard to choose! Being together as a family is the most important whether it is baking so many cookies when our daughters are home or gathering everyone around the tree on Christmas eve for gift exchange and our traditional Shepards Pie dinner.

WOW! Give away of all giveaways!! Love everything about Dreamy Whites!

Our tradition includes making my mom's sugar cookies with icing! The recipe comes from an old Betty Crocker cookbook that my dad gave my mom when she was 19 years old! Even though my son is 14 years old now, he still manages to sneak in by "helping" in some way (mostly eating them!)

Thanks for the giveaway!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

I would say our favorite Christmas tradition is decorating the tree while listening to Ray Conniff Christmas music, which is what I grew up listening to (thanks Mom! ) and what my adult children (27 and 24) love as well. It's a magical feeling when you gently unwrap the vintage ornament from its tissue paper home of the last year and find the perfect place on the tree. I always get a lump in my throat when "O Holy Night" comes on..."the thrill of hope, a weary world rejoices".

I adore your home. Thank you for sharing its beauty with us. Merry Christmas!

on christmas eve with dessert being a angel food "birthday" cake for Jesus. We all sang "Happy Birthday" to Jesus and the youngest sibling would get to blow out the candle~

As we have grown, married, and have had children of our own, we still gather on Christmas Eve and we still have angel food cake. We still sing " Happy Birthday" to Jesus and the youngest of all the cousins now blows out the candle~

My most favorite holiday tradition is to go to the woods the weekend after Thanksgiving and gather greens, cedar whenever possible. These are wired together for a swag on the porch rail with waterproof plaid ribbons, and to make a wreath for the front door, adding some gathered cones with the greens and ribbon. The fragrance of the greens and the life add so much as snow often falls throughout December here in Montana.

We love getting large trees for our house. Last year we cut a 12 foot tree the day after Thanksgiving and took it down the first of March! It was an amazingly fresh Grand Fir. trimmed to 11 1/2 ft and lit up like a Christmas tree, with white lights, white gold and silver
natural ornaments and burlap garland and tree skirt. We enjoyed it every night of the season and beyond, sitting by the fire, lighting the tree and listening to Christmas Music (Relaxing Christmas, a gift from our son 7 years ago) is a favorite!

My favorite family Christmas tradition is our "Last Supper" dinner on Christmas Eve. We eat like the Savior and his disciples ate at the Last Supper... We turn out the lights and eat by candle light, we serve baked fish (fish sticks when the kids were little), loaves of fresh bread, olives, cheeses and cubed salami and ham.... and we eat with our hands. We don't drink wine so we serve purple grape juice in goblets. Doing this always seems to bring the sweetest, reverent feelings to our home on such a special night.

Our family traditions for Christmas are:
* Reading the story of the birth of Jesus on Christmas Eve.
* We will also read the "Night before Christmas "
* We set out cookies & milk for Santa and carrots and Glittery oatmeal for the Reindeer.
* We will turn off all the lights except for the Christmas tree and sit quietly talking with our children while relishing the twinkle lights and our favorite ornaments.
* Last, before we retire to bed is to quietly place baby Jesus in the Nativity Manger so that when our child awake they will know that we remember his birth.
*. The children let mommy start her coffee brewing before she sits down to open the exciting gifts that magicaly appeared under the tree. Tteague2@triad.rr.com

Your posts are always so inspiring. My favorite Christmas tradition started when I was 5 years old. That was the year my Dad said I have a secret for you. He said Santa really likes Fritos and Coke much better than milk and cookies. That was the first Christmas I left a bottle of coke and a plate of Fritos for Santa on Christmas Eve. My father passed away in 2002, but this was a tradition that I continued with my own family and continue to do even though our youngest left home 17 years ago. Of course I know my Dad was right, because I still find an empty coke bottle and all the Fritos eaten when I get up Christmas morning. ----Debra

One of our favorite traditions at Christmas is opening our family gifts from each other. Eating Christmas Dinner together and watching a Christmas show on TV or at the movies. We also read about our Savior to remember the true meaning of Christmas.

Our favorite Christmas tradition is to open our Christmas eve pajamas and watch Home Alone. It gets everyone in the mood for Christmas morning and reminds us that family is what the holiday is all about. Calleigh Miller kleeqa@yahoo.com

Our favorite tradition is decorating the tree and reminiscing about each ornament as we hang it on the tree.

Your photos are always so gorgeous!
One of my favorite traditions is creating homemade gifts for each other. It makes me happy to see my girls all knitting together, and the older kids helping the younger ones create gifts for grandparents and other relatives. Thanks so much for the beautiful inspiration!

Your home is so beautiful! Light, airy and so comfortable. I love your shop and have purchased from you and loved my items. A favorite holiday tradition is that we saved our change all year, even the kids and then took a night to count it with hot chocolate & whip cream and some snacks to see how much we had saves. We all wrote on a piece of paper our guess of the total, whoever was closest without going over would win a gift card to a store or a shopping trip. Then with the money we would go out and shop for a Christmas tree! I miss it, it was so much fun.

Thanks so much!

We started a game night a few years ago. It's a time each year when friends old and young come together and have a fun evening playing games, eating and drinking, I look forward to it each year now.

I am so in love and inspired by this post.....every picture is lit up with beautiful light and composition !!!

We traditionally go caroling a week before Christmas at our local museum where candlelit tours and a large bonfire glows. The local brass ensemble accompanies the singing in front of the Hotel and General Store. Afterwards all meet at the "yellow barn" and enjoy cider and cookies.

before i even get to traditions....i want you to know that when i read through your post...and then went to your online shop....i wept. everything is so lovely...so beautifully displayed and the pictures reached right into my heart. i love antiques because it is as though the love for all those treasures by those who once had them seems to imbue every single perfect thing with ghosts, if you will. they lasted beyond the person that once loved them and treasured them. when i saw the sleds, i thought of all the little tummies and bottoms resting on them as they raced down hills or were pulled by a papa or maman. touches my heart so much. thank you for such a visual feast. my tradition, based on ones we did when my children filled my home, is giving for the entire month of december: dropping a dollar into the salvation army bucket, donating blankets or coats or food, surprising someone with a handmade gift, sharing a book or carol or movie, writing a note of thanks and slipping it into a christmas card....it could be anything, but each day begins with finding someone to gift. it brings the spirit of the season to my heart and each day is decorated with joy. thank you for the most generous giveaway i've even seen. ever. i cry even thinking about someone's heart overflowing when they find out they win everything you are giving. you will make someone's christmas one to remember. thank you. angelheartcottage@comcast.net

In our home, we like to ask our little children to write letters to Santa on Christmas Eve. We then make cookies together that night. Santa replies to them every time. Our children love to read letters from Santa before they open their Christmas presents. Thanks, Kristie
