A French Wooden Caddy, My Hydrangeas

Hello!
I hope you are all having a great weekend.
I wanted to share a few pictures I took of a french wooden caddy....

I am always on the search for french wooden caddies and or baskets at the flea market.

I couldn't pass this one up....

I am not sure what it was originally used for....
Maybe a tool box....
I like using these caddies to store just about anything in....
Anything but tools that is....
I added a few of my hydrangeas from the garden and some of my favorite dishes....
Be warned you will be seeing a lot of hydrangeas in my product pictures in the near future....

I planted over 20 plants four years ago.
They are all blooming like crazy right now.
Which means there will be a lot of hydrangeas used for product pictures from now and until October.

On a more serious note...
My thoughts and prayers go out to all of the tornado victims.
I can't even imagine going through such a devastating storm.
I will be donating 10% of all sales from May 27th to May 30th to the Red Cross.
If you would like to make a personal donation you can do so by visiting

Thank you and have a great weekend!!
Take Care,
Maria

The Lettered Cottage Magazine......Summer Fun

Hello Everyone!
I hope you are all having a great week!
I wanted to share Kevin and Layla's e-zine, Summer Fun with you today.
Last spring Layla asked me to contribute a story for her e-zine.
I was a little nervous and honored to say the least....
I was asked to find something at a flea market and bring it home and freshen it up for my project.

I found a pair of french shutters last summer at a flea market....
I talked my husband into making a cupboard using the french shutters....
Thank you Thad!
I did however paint the cupboard and take a lot of pictures.....

I hope you get a chance to read Layla and Kevin's (The Lettered Cottage)
inspiring e-zine....
Summer Fun.
Thank you Kevin and Layla for asking me to be apart of your e-zine.
One of my favorite bloggers has a project in there as well....
Flower Patch Farmgirl.

On another note....
I would like to share a blog with you that I love....
Freckled Laundry...
I hope you get a chance to check out Jami's blog.

I will hopefully be back on Wednesday.
Take Care,
Maria

Dreamy Whites Online Mother's Day Sale and Mixing Modern, Industrial, and French Farmhouse Pieces Together

Hello Everyone!
I hope you all enjoyed your weekend....
I had a couple things I wanted to share today....
First I wanted to tell you about a SALE I am having on my site, Dreamy Whites Online.
I have marked a number of things on sale in my shop this week, in honor of Mother's Day.
The sale starts today and will run until May 8th.
I will be adding new items to my shop every night this next week.
All items in the shop ship for free to anywhere in the continental United States.
Thank you to everyone who has chosen to shop with me over the past four months!
I am truly honored that you would choose to shop Dreamy Whites Online!

I wanted to share a few ways I like to mix industrial, modern, and French Farmhouse pieces together.

I love these industrial tubs from Europe....
The antique label that is attached to the tub, adds a lot of color even when it isn't holding a bouquet of flowers. ( I will soon be able to fill it with hydrangeas from my garden.)
I think it helps add an industrial and modern feel to the entryway.
I especially like how the industrial tub looks paired with the more formal antique chair...

I have a few of these tubs and use them for many different purposes in the house, such as storing my lavender buds in, and if you subscribed to the House of Fifty,
then you saw the one I have in my bedroom, that I used to store my pillows in.

I chose to use a more modern light fixture here.
It has a modern but yet farmhouse feel to it...

I used natural grain sacks for a rug...
The metal tub, the clock above the mantle, and the light fixture all add modern elements to the room.
The bistro chair and antique french natural wood shutter leaning against the wall add elements of french farmhouse to the entryway.....
The antique Italian chair adds a formal touch to the modern, industrial, and french farmhouse mix.
What styles do you like to mix together?

I will be taking the rest of the week off from blogging.
I will hopefully be back sometime next week.

I hope you all have a great week.
Take Care,
Maria
