A Special Contributor, Andrea of Faded Plains, Outdoor Movie Entertaining

Hello everyone.....this is Andrea from Faded Plains

Maria invited me to do a little guest post on her beautiful blog today....thanks so much Maria....I'm honored!

The weather here in the midwest has been so beautiful lately....and it seems this weekend we'll be in the mid 70's....perfect for outdoor movies. We love having outdoor movie nights at my home.....we scatter quilts on the grass....comfy chairs with fluffy pillows around the fire and settle in for movies under the stars.

Another thing I love to do is dinner in a bowl. I gather up some of my old bowls and line them with parchment paper....then fill them up with the nights entree. It's such an easy way to serve everyone their meal with everything they'll need tucked inside.....

like a sandwich, an apple, lemonade, dessert in a jar, utensils and napkins.

It's also makes for easy eating on your lap. Seems how drive-ins have become pretty much non-existent, this is my way of showing my boys what watching a movie under the stars feels like....and I have to tell you....they absolutely love it!

I wanted to thank Maria again for inviting me....it's been a blast!....and a big thank you to all of you for taking the time to read my little post.

Thank You Andrea!
I love Andrea's styling and photography.....
You can find so many more wonderful ideas on Andrea's Blog, Faded Plains!
Andrea also has a wonderful online shop, where you can find so many great farmhouse items!
I hope you all enjoy your weekend!

Upadate!
Andrea posted about where she got the recipe for her cheesecake in a jar.....

Take Care,
Maria

How cute is this??? Oh that Andrea, she always has something beautiful up her sleeve! ;o)

I would like to know what the next 'feature' will be....I so miss the drive-in so need to head over to her little farm. I don't think the fan would notice me and my hubs on a blanket on their lawn, do you??

Beautiful styling and what a charming idea to have an outdoor cinema night. Although the weather here in the UK is absolutely beautiful (for now) it's not quite warm enough for outdoor dining, and I don't anticipate it reaching those temperatures for a while yet! However, I will definitely be filing this under 'gorgeous ideas to replicate' for when the Summer months eventually do arrive - can't wait! x

I follow Andrea too. She's sooo talented! The weather in Belgium is nice too, blue skies but not warm enough for outdoor movies. We're having lunch in our back yard though.

Enjoy your weekend.

Very pretty pictures and I love the idea of the outdoor movie. My kids are all grown up and gone but maybe we could do this when I ...if I, ever get grand kids.

Nice post Andrea it sure brought back some wonderful memories. While my children are all grown now, when they were young we were lucky enough to still have an old drive in theater nearby. Frequently we would gather up our group of friends, park some pickups with the beds facing the screen and pile them full with blankets, pillows, movie snacks and all our kids. The movies were always second run but it didn’t matter, the fun was in being together under the stars, sharing the blankets, the snacks, the laughter and the memories.

Love the desert in a jar... can you tell us what is in it? Is it cherry pie filling, graham cracker crust and yogurt?
